Character |
Extremely hardy with dense, shiny green foliage. Fastest growing seed source and excellent
resistance to root rot. Tests on Danish seed source have so far shown later flushing and faster
growth.

Moist, well-drained soils. Has performed very well in heavy soils.

Growth |
Good growth rate but slow to establish. Beautiful large, flat needles that show white underneath.
Lush foliage, tends to be crowded on horizontal branches. Hardy to at least minus 30 degrees
Fahrenheit.

Description |
Originally grown in north eastern Europe, the Nordmann Fir is extremely adaptable to most
conditions. It is more frost hardy than other species. Similar in appearance and characteristics
to the Noble Fir, but with more variations. Among the best needle retention. Self-shaping, late
breaking fir. Aphid and mite resistant.
