Very cold hardy. Slow growing.

Soil

Prefers moist hillsides, but will grow well on level ground. Grows better in less well-drained soil. Can grow in heavy clay soil. Likes acidic to neutral soil.

Growth

Grows to 30m tall but slow growing.

Excellent. Can grow in full shade to full sun.
