Care for Bare Root Transplants |
|
If you are purchasing bare-root trees from us, considerable planning must be carried out. Ensure
you know where the trees will be planted and make sure the area is prepared (i.e., well mowed,
tilled, etc.).
Keep your trees cool. We will have wrapped the roots in moist newspaper and bagged the trees in
plastic. The roots will not stay moist for long periods, so we recommend keeping them out of direct
sunlight and preferably somewhere sheltered, such as a garage or shed. If you have a small enough
quantity, it would be ideal to keep them in the fridge until you plan to plant them.
Bare-root trees should be planted within a couple of days after collecting them from our nursery.
Help with this can be found on our Planting trees page.
